Leila Verlinden

Dancer

”I see dance as one of the most liberal artforms. It’s often a melting pot of so many arts, making it so versatile. So many things can be dance. As an audience you can be very free in your interpretation and as an artist you rarely get to work in the same way and/or combination of dance/theatre/music. The possibilities are endless.”

Leila studied dance at Codarts in Rotterdam and danced as an apprentice with Conny Janssen Danst and Scapino Ballet. She worked with companies such as Le Jeune Ballet du Québec and Ampersandance. Leila has danced choreographies by Jiri Kilian, Nacho Duato, Martin Forsberg, Thomas Noone, Marcos Morau, Ohad Naharin, Yossi Berg & Oded Graaf, Roy Assaf, Fernando Melo, Mats Ek, Tina Tarpgaard, Mari Carrasco and Jo Stromgren. In her years with Norrdans, Leila has been working as a dancer, rehearsal director and tour planner.

Leila has danced with Norrdans since 2012.
